“It's All Coming Back to Me..." Offers an Intimate Look at the Songs, Collaborations, and Shared Dreams That Defined an Era in Music

I caught up with Vito Luprano at his home in Montreal, Quebec and I was truthfully honoured to talk in depth with this iconic music producer of not just Celine Dion’s music but so many others during a decades long career. His enthusiasm sounds like that of a young guy just starting out and he clearly still loves the music, the art of finding the right songs all mixed in with his own touch of magic. Somehow with 225 million records sold of his productions, Vito is still the same humble and behind the scenes guy he has been for all these years.

“It’s All Coming Back to Me…” is truly the story from my humble beginnings to the real story behind Celine’s music career and the amazing 25-year journey I took with her and Rene It captures the highs and lows of the music industry at its best and worst.”

“I was 11 years old when my parents move myself and my siblings from Italy to Canada. I remember looking out the window of the airplane and I was so excited by the new life we were embarking on. My Dad, Allesandro was reluctant to leave Italy, but my Mom, Anna, was the decider on this decision to settle in Canada, being the real go-getter in the family she felt life could only get better by moving to Montreal, Quebec. I could never have imagined the life that was ahead of me in the music business.”

“It's All Coming Back to Me..." offers an Intimate Look at the Songs, Collaborations, and Vito Luprano, the esteemed executive producer who played a pivotal role in Celine Dion's rise to international stardom, today announces the release of his memoir, It's All Coming Back to Me... From My Humble Beginnings to the Real Story Behind Celine Dion’s Music Career. This thoughtful reflection chronicles Luprano's 25-year collaboration with Dion and her late husband René Angélil, focusing on the creative process behind some of the most beloved albums and hits in contemporary music history.

During the 1970’s he started promoting disco music in some of Montreal’s hottest clubs. By 1980 his success as a promoter landed him a job at CBS Records as Marketing/Radio/Press Representative. By 1986 Luprano was promoted to Director of A&R for Sony Music Entertainment (formerly CBS Records).

It was during that same year that Vito signed Celine Dion, leading to his promotion to Senior Vice President of Sony Music Canada. As Executive Producer, Luprano was responsible for repertoire as well as organizing and overseeing all production of over 20 albums with Celine. These albums collectively have sold over 225 million worldwide. Many of these albums earned award recognition including Grammy Album of the Year, Grammy Best Record of the Year, Grammy Best Pop Artist of the Year and two Academy Awards for Best Original Song. Luprano is also responsible for signing and developing additional Canadian artists including Garou, whose albums have sold over 5 million copies in the French market.

With a career that was already on the path for success (read the book to see Vito’s history!) fate would have it all unfold when he was working for Sony Records. “I was 30 years old when I first met Celine. She was 17. We signed her when she was 18.”

And as they say, the rest is history.

Drawing from his immigrant roots in Bari, Italy, to his groundbreaking work at CBS Records (now Sony Music) where he signed a 17-year-old Dion in 1986, Luprano recounts the passion, perseverance, and partnerships that transformed a young Quebec talent into a global phenomenon. The book delves into the stories behind iconic songs like "My Heart Will Go On," "The Power of Love," and "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," highlighting Luprano's role in assembling legendary teams of songwriters and producers, including David Foster, Diane Warren, Jim Steinman, and Max Martin.

I loved the chapter on the 64th Grammys where Vito goes from feeling like he belongs there to wondering how he got to ‘walk the carpet’ and bumping into Paul McCartney who apologized to him, then wanting to pinch himself when he realize he was sitting beside Samuel L. Jackson.

“Ever since I was a teen, the Academy Awards, as well as The Grammy’s, are two shows I never miss, no matter what. For years, my family and friends had watched the parties and this time they were scanning the crowd for me.”

“Not bad for a bunch of Quebecers putting our dreams onto the stage for all the world to see. Why shouldn’t we be here? Why wouldn’t it be us? Why shouldn’t it be us? Even so, why am I here? I’m the behind-the scenes guy, the one finding the right material to develop her brand and showcase her voice and appeal to international audiences.
And the Oscar goes to…” - Beauty and the Beast!”

"This memoir is a tribute to the magic we created together," said Luprano. "It's about the music that touched millions, the friendships forged in studios around the world, and the quiet determination that fueled Celine's extraordinary career. I wrote it with deep respect for Celine, René, and the incredible artists who joined us on this journey."

The book features glowing testimonials from industry luminaries who collaborated with Luprano and Dion:
“Vito’s musical relationship with Celine Dion was the stuff dreams are made of for both of them! His ability to find great songs for Celine was unparalleled and unequalled. They complemented each other perfectly! Thank you, Vito, for helping me and so many others with your particular and unique talents!”- David Foster, Canadian record producer, composer, arranger, musician, winner of 16 Grammy Awards and 47 nominations.

“Without question, Vito’s song selection elevated Celine Dion’s musical direction and helped to make her a huge international star. Vito was involved in all aspects of her recording career - song selection, record production and career guidance. Vito has  great ears and instincts. In his hands-on approach, I  would compare him to legendary record man Clive  Davis. Both Clive and Vito recognize the importance of a great song.”  - Billy Steinberg, Songwriter of Madonna’s Like A Virgin, Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors, and The Pretenders’ I’ll Stand By  You and a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

“I first met Vito when I met Celine. It felt like Vito and I were on the same team, really wanting to see Celine  break through. We all knew a voice like Celine’s is once  in a lifetime, and we were determined to make sure  that happened. I know Vito pushed through some of  my songs that might not have been successful with out his help, so I am eternally grateful for that. Some of those songs were her biggest hits.” - Diane Warren, Grammy  Award-Winning Songwriter.

“I can attest from innumerable personal experiences that the indefatigable boy from Bari, Italy,  will pretty much wear you down into submission when he crusades for a creative ambition he wants  to make happen. He was the chief architect, sculpting my opportunity to write and produce several songs for the greatest female vocalist of our generation, Celine Dion.” - Corey Hart, Artist/Songwriter, Sunglasses At Night, Never  Surrender and Juno-winning recording artist.

“You can’t speak about the iconic artistry of Celine Dion without speaking about Vito Lubrano’s enormous contribution. He was essential to the fabric of all her records and the story they told. He knew how to listen to records as if he were the artist, and that made all of her songs even more authentic to Celine.  His passion for Celine’s project and love for her was a gift to me as a  young songwriter needing inspiration to create for such a legend.” - Kara DioGuardi (Grammy nominated) songwriter, who has written songs including Pink’s Sober, Kelly Clarkson’s Walk  Away, and Carrie Underwood’s Undo It and Celine Dion’s  Taking Chances.

Structured around key albums and songs, from Unison to Taking Chances, the memoir emphasizes the collaborative spirit that defined their work. It highlights Lubrano’s efforts to bridge French and English markets and secure landmark duets with artists like Barbra Streisand, The Bee Gees, and Andrea Bocelli, while also touching on personal milestones such as attending the Oscars and Grammys—all showing Lubrano’s grounded approach amid the whirlwind of fame.

This first edition invites fans to rediscover the artistry behind Dion's timeless catalog through Lubrano’s eyes. “There is something about music that expands and deepens and enriches us, and it doesn’t matter what kind of music a person enjoys. If it touches your soul, makes you come alive, connects you to others or something within you, then it’s playing a role in your life.”

Already a #1 Best Seller on Amazon, it is a must for any music lover’s library.
