With roots deep in the swampy blues of the American South and the haunting tones of Nordic folk, Cactai Road carves out a sonic path entirely their own. Based on the southern coast of Sweden, this genre-defying trio blends rootsy country blues with atmospheric soundscapes to create a musical experience that is both grounded and otherworldly.

Described as a Delta Space Trio, Cactai Road seamlessly merges the raw authenticity of roots music with bold sonic exploration. Their sound feels both timeless and immediate – as if they’re standing firmly in the rich soil of Österlen while reaching for the sky.
At the heart of the band are three distinctive voices:
Jasmine "Jamsin" Lyhagen – vocals, guitar, percussion
Micke "Skuggan" Nilsson – guitar, harmonica, backing vocals
Jerker "Mas po bas" Vennström – bass, foot drums
Since their debut EP The Bird and the Scarecrow (2016), the band has steadily built a compelling discography. From Curtain Man (2017) to the darkly poetic Doom Tower (2019), through the critically acclaimed album Rising Falls (2020) and the dreamy single Oh My Love (2021), to the self-titled full-length Cactai Road (2023) – each release marks a new chapter in the band's evolving narrative.
Cactai Road first played at Lilla By Festival in 2023, in the intimate setting of our beloved Kanadaladan barn stage. Their deeply personal performance made such a strong impression on us that we knew we had to invite them back. In 2025, as part of our 5th Anniversary celebration, they returned – this time on one of our main outdoor stages, captivating a larger audience with their unmistakable sound and presence.

Cactai Road is more than a band – they’re a journey. A journey through sound and emotion, from the prairie to the far north, from dusty roads to celestial heights. We are proud to have them as part of the Lilla By Festival story.
