TAYLOR SWIFTS SPEAK NOW 2011 TORONTO TOUR DATES SELL OUT IN MINUTES
Toronto, ON – Tickets for Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated July 15 and 16 performances in Toronto went on sale last week and sold out within minutes. Taylor’s Speak Now World Tour 2011 was announced last week in support of her latest album Speak Now (Open Road Recordings / Universal Music Canada). Speak Now is quickly becoming the most sought after record of the year, achieving rave reviews worldwide, shattering sales records and selling over a million copies in the US, the first week of release.
In the U.S., tickets for the first 10 shows of the North American tour sold out just as quickly. Those shows included Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. – which sold out in five minutes, and two shows at Los Angeles’ STAPLES Centre, which sold out within two minutes. In response to the strong demand for tickets, one additional performance has been added for Foxborough on June 26 and two additional performances have been posted for Los Angeles on August 27 and 28.
Taylor will perform throughout Asia and Europe during the first quarter of 2011, before kicking off her North American tour on May 27th. The 2011 tour dates will include six stadium shows throughout the US. The North American leg of the tour is sponsored by COVERGIRL®, and ticket prices start at $25.
Known for her impressive live show, audiences will experience a theatrical production like no other, with all the visual elements, sets, graphics and costume changes conceptualized by Taylor herself. During the course of her show, Taylor plays a variety of instruments and has multiple wardrobe changes. Each show, Taylor performs hit after hit from her three albums, including chart-topping singles Mine, Love Story, You Belong With Me, Our Song, and Fifteen.
Additional Canadian dates for the 2011 world tour include Montreal on July 14, two shows in Edmonton on August 18 and 19 and two shows in Vancouver on September 10 and 11. Further information on venues and on sale dates to be announced.
