It was another star studded night at the Phoenix nightclub in the heart of Toronto, a scene that we are getting all too familiar in seeing as fans and family gather to pay tribute to a fallen star as his voice has been silent all too soon.

Nelly Furtado, Jim Cuddy (Blue Rodeo), K-Os, and Chantal Kreviazuk were among the artists that fans were privileged to see as they honored the musical legacy of Jacksoul’s Haydain Neale.

CRASH KARMA Signs with E1 Music Canada

CRASH KARMA’s Debut Single “Awake” Top 10 with a bullet on Canadian Rock Chart

Toronto, ON – E1 Music Canada announced today the signing of CRASH KARMA with plans to release the group’s debut CD on March 16, 2010 to coincide with a national tour.

CRASH KARMA’s members are no stranger to success, consisting of former I Mother Earth singer Edwin, ex-Our Lady Peace guitarist Mike Turner, The Tea Party drummer Jeff Burrows and former Zygote member Amir Epstein. All of these respective groups notched up high record sales, multiple Juno and MuchMusic Video Awards and became household names. “Awake” is, of course, a perfectly appropriate title for the debut single.

ZACH is a talented Canadian singer/songwriter who we wrote about in Cashbox Canada on November 5 and it is already time for an up-date on this young sensation who is sure to take centre stage in the very near future.

ZACH is currently in pre-production for his first labeled CD Release, starting with a single release of a legendary hit song with a new spin (at the time of press the release for the title is still under wrap) which will also be included on his new CD due out by early Spring.

Hailing from Winnipeg, ZACH recently spent a whirlwind weekend in Toronto to start the development of his singing career. First stop was with renowned photographer/video producer Taffi Rosen who shot his promo shots for his website and promotion kit to accompany the new project. On hand for the shoot was Corky Laing, drummer of Mountain, Cork and West Bruce & Laing.

Justin Bieber is a 15 year-old soul-singing phenomenon from Stratford, Ontario and after posting dozens of homemade videos on YouTube in 2007, of recreating songs of his favorite artists like Usher, Ne-Yo and Stevie Wonder, Bieber racked up over 10,000,000 viewers.

Bieber said "I started singing about three years ago," and "I entered a local singing competition called Stratford Idol. The other people in the competition had been taking singing lessons and had vocal coaches. I wasn't taking it too seriously at the time; I would just sing around the house. I was only 12 and I got second place."

The date of 9.9.9 marked the launch of D.K.O the new project of renowned reggae artist, Darrin Kenneth O’Brien a.k.a. SNOW.

The event had a spectrum of talent from all genres of music, with the evening ending with a surprise performance by SNOW himself. The start of the event was just as surprising as a young female and an acoustic guitar took the stage while the bustle of bar life filled the room. Suddenly the buzz quieted down when Alyssa Rubino started to sing. The song was “Beautiful to Know” written by Alyssa Rubino ,Danny Rubino and Trust. The crowd showed their respect as the 11 year old singer and her accompaniment Trust left the stage. That’s right, 11 years old.

So where did it all begin?

Alyssa Rubino is a Talented 11 year Old... Singer/Actress She was molded by her musical Dad, Danny Rubino, who has been in the music Industry for over 20 years.
