Project Mars to Earth: Don’t Hold Back

They’re from Ottawa, so the name fits since they may as well be from Mars. So they have that to overcome and true thing, dudes are overcoming. You can hear it happening Oct.2 when their debut EP Don’t Hold Back drops.

The band released the title track (a tribute to Canadian soldiers) as the first single over the summer and toured across Canada road testing the new material.

Here's a link to their single which is available for free download: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRt-GgEJzQ0

Folks who know better have linked the foursome to such as Queens of The Stone Age, Shinedown, Hinder, The Damned Things, Alice In Chains, Theory of A Deadman). So think some sludge, a taste of garage, a thundering sense of rhythm, a vocalist (Ron Henry) who can do that whisper to a scream thing, served up with a big whack o’ heartfelt sincerity.

For newbies, the songwriting’s  reasonably far along, a good mix of high polish with the rock’n’roll grit. Likewise, the axework’s properly teeth-grinding and in “Break Down (The Walls)”, the group just might have stiumbled on their signature, inspirational moment first time out.

Check the sounds and keep an eye peeled for any sightings of Project Mars in your ‘hood.
