Canadian Music Week Announces New Co Chairs for 2013

In a recent press release, Neill Dixon and his team announced three new co-chairs for the 2013 date of March   for Canadian Music Week. Spanning the areas of records, live and broadcast, the three industry executives are contributing decades of experience, spanning the areas of records, live broadcast and  booking agents and management. The Co-chairs are:

Bedlam Music Management / Dine Alone Records

Joel Carriere has been working in the music industry in some form or another since his days as an alternative rock DJ and assistant manager at Sam The Record Man. Since then, Carriere has become a prominent figure in the Canadian independent music scene as owner of Bedlam Music Management and Dine Alone Records and a partner in Rock Steady music services based in LA.  With the success of Alexisonfire, Carriere was encouraged to expand his management roster under the Bedlam Music Management umbrella which currently manages City and Colour, The Coppertones, Monster Truck and The Sheepdogs. Bedlam Music Management is also responsible for breaking artists such as Bedouin Soundclash and Attack in Black. Dine Alone Records is frequently lauded as one of Canada's most important full-service independent records labels, due in a big part to the success of City and Colour. Currently the label boasts a roster that includes such notable artists such as The Civil Wars, City and Colour, Tokyo Police Club, Yukon Blonde and James Vincent McMorrow.

2012 marks 30 years in the radio industry for Dave. Born and raised in Winnipeg, his career began in 1982 at CJSL in Estevan, Saskatchewan running the Sunday morning bible tapes. In 1985 came KX96 in Brandon, Manitoba and then to Victoria in 1987 to help launch the Island's first rock station- 100.3 The Q. 

Corus Entertainment came knocking in 2001 and the skinny kid from "The Peg" landed in Toronto as Program Director of 102.1 the Edge. 2 years later, he moved 100 ft. down the hall to program The Mighty Q107, but he wasn't done yet! In 2005, Dave became General Manager of 4 Corus radio stations in London, Ontario and during those 5 years, with an amazing team of radio pros, successfully launched 1031 Fresh FM and re-formatted FM96 and AM980 to become market leaders. Then, in 2010, it was back to Toronto and the new Corus Quay headquarters as a V.P. with the radio division overseeing Brands, Programming and New Media for the 37 radio stations across Canada.

Jack is a twenty five year veteran of the Canadian Music Industry working as a promoter, manager and agent. Along with Neil Warnock and Ralph James, he is a founding partner of The Agency Group, Canada and overseas operations. Jack manages an office staff of twenty four people and a company roster of over two hundred clients. His personal roster includes many iconic artists, such as Great Big Sea, Dolly Parton, Paul Brandt, Jian Ghomeshi, Bruce Cockburn, Billy Bragg and many more as well as a host of emerging new headliners such as Sam Roberts Band, Arkells and LIGHTS. Jack helped create the Polaris Music Prize and sits on the board. He has also recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS).
